Turkey’s current and long-term energy policies call for a reduction in the country’s reliance on foreign energy supplies through the development of indigenous resources and the accumulation of savings. It has also been suggested that current local resources be converted into manufacturing investments and that new resources be researched.

Similarly, the government wants to boost the proportion of renewable energy in the entire energy supply.
